Epic just won its antitrust lawsuit against Google again

Image
Epic has won again. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals will not overturn the unanimous jury verdict from 2023 that Google’s app store and payments system had become illegal monopolies. Today, that appeals court affirmed the lower court’s decision in Epic v. Google , according to an full opinion you can read at the bottom of this story — and Google will now appeal to the Supreme Court, the company confirms to The Verge . Judge M. Margaret McKeown begins her opinion for the court: In the world of adrenaline-fueled survival that epitomizes the video game Fortnite, winners are decided in blazes of destruction and glory. By contrast, the outcome of this case—centered on Fortnite’s developer, Epic Games, and the Google Android platform—turns on longstanding principles of trial procedure, antitrust, and injunctive remedies. “Total victory in the Epic v Google appeal!” tweets Epic CEO Tim Sweeney . Google will appeal: “This decision will significantly harm user safety, limit choice, an...

Microsoft becomes the second $4 trillion company

Image
Microsoft’s stock price has risen so much today that it has passed a $4 trillion market valuation for the first time in its 50-year history. The software maker is the second company to be valued at $4 trillion, after Nvidia reached a market cap of over $4 trillion earlier this month . Microsoft has reached this milestone thanks to better-than-expected earnings , and the company reporting its Azure revenue for the first time. Microsoft revealed last night that its Azure cloud computing business had generated more than $75 billion during its 2025 fiscal year, and the company’s stock price immediately started soaring in after-hours trading on the Nasdaq. Microsoft’s share price is up around 4 percent today, helping it maintain its $4 trillion market valuation. Microsoft has spent more than a decade building up its Azure cloud business, which is ahead of Google’s in revenue but still second place to Amazon Web Services. Azure now touches every corner of Microsoft’s businesses, including...

Pokémon TCG Pocket will change card art after plagiarism accusations

Image
Artwork from Pokémon TCG Pocket’s Wisdom of Sea and Sky expansion that has now been removed from the game. | Image: The Pokémon Company While you can now start collecting Pokémon TCG Pocket ‘s Johto-themed Wisdom of Sea and Sky expansion , two of the set’s rarest cards are being changed in response to concerns about art theft. Soon after dataminers began posting images of Wisdom of Sea and Sky’s cards on Tuesday, Chinese artist lanjiujiu took to their X account with questions about Pokémon TCG Pocket using illustrations that seemed to have been traced from their own work. In particular, lanjiujiu pointed to Wisdom of Sea and Sky’s immersive Ho-Oh card drawn by Sie Nanahara , a Japanese illustrator who has previously produced a number of art pieces for The Pokémon Company.  Pokémon TCG Pocket ‘s original immersive Ho-Oh card bore a number of visual similarities to a piece of art lanjiujiu was commissioned to illustrate in 2021. lanjiujiu did not specify who originally commiss...

YouTube will identify and restrict minors’ accounts with AI

Image
YouTube will soon begin using AI-powered age estimation technology to figure out which users are under the age of 18. Starting August 13th , YouTube will detect underage users in the US based on their activity and the age of their account, allowing the platform to automatically apply restrictions. These accounts will get the same protections YouTube already offers to users who identify themselves as under 18, including a block on age-restricted videos, non-personalized ads, “take a break” notifications , and a limit on repeated video recommendations about sensitive topics, such as body image. The platform will also automatically turn on reminders about privacy when users upload a video or leave a comment. Google first announced plans to use machine learning to power age estimation earlier this year, which aligns with a global crackdown on child safety online. Last week, the UK’s online age verification rules went into effect, requiring users to verify their ages on sites with por...

Google’s AI Mode update adds even more tools for students

Image
Users will soon be able to upload PDFs to AI Mode, too. | Image: Google Google is bringing a bunch of new features to AI Mode, and is positioning the update as a way to help students study for tests or dig deeper into what they’re learning. Today, the company announced that it will now let users upload images to AI Mode on desktop, allowing them to ask questions about what they’re seeing, whether it’s a homework math problem or a plant they want to learn more about. In May, Google built AI Mode into Search in the US, which searches the web and summarizes its findings for users. It also lets users ask follow-up questions, as well as have a back-and-forth conversation with the tool. Google launched the ability to upload images to AI Mode while still testing the feature in April; adding it to desktop could make it easier for students to get help on projects or assignments that they’re working on. Other changes coming soon include a test of real-time camera sharing in AI Mode, bu...

Microsoft Edge transforms into an AI browser with new Copilot Mode

Image
Microsoft is starting to test a new experimental Copilot Mode inside its Edge browser today. The AI-powered mode allows Copilot to search across all your open tabs and handle tasks like booking a restaurant, and it brings the Copilot chatbot to your new tab page. Copilot Mode is somewhere between the limited Gemini integration that Google is testing in Chrome and the AI-powered overhaul that Comet offers with its AI browser. You can let Copilot see all your open tabs so you can ask it to compare a bunch of hotels you might be looking at or help summarize the best purchase from multiple product tabs. Copilot in Edge also supports voice navigation to locate information on a website or to open tabs with products to compare. Microsoft is also planning to let Copilot, with your permission, access your Edge browser history and credentials so the chatbot can book reservations on your behalf. These new Copilot features in Edge build on the existing integration of Microsoft’s AI assista...

Sony details its ‘FlexStrike’ wireless PS5 fight stick

Image
Sony’s Project Defiant PlayStation fight stick is now called the FlexStrike. | Screenshot: YouTube Sony has shared more details about its arcade-style controller for the PlayStation that was first teased during the State of Play event in early June. Originally codenamed Project Defiant, the fight stick is now called the FlexStrike and features a rechargeable battery, mechanical switch buttons, restrictor gates that limit the joystick’s movements, and the ability to connect two of them to the PS5 using a PlayStation Link USB adapter.  Using an updated version of the PS Link adapter that will be compatible with USB-C ports, the FlexStrike can also be connected to a PS5 alongside Sony’s Pulse Elite wireless headset or Pulse Explore wireless earbuds for an “ultra-low latency audio and voice chat experience,” according to a new blog post . Pricing hasn’t been revealed yet, and the fight stick’s release date is still set for sometime in 2026. The fight stick can also be connect...

Avatar: Fire and Ash brings war to Pandora in first trailer

Image
The first trailer for Avatar: Fire and Ash is finally here, and it looks like James Cameron might have made another banger. Though Avatar: The Way of Water ended on hopeful note with Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña), and their family finding a new home with a different group of Na’vi, Fire and Ash ‘s trailer makes clear that a brutal conflict is brewing on Pandora. While human / Na’vi recombinants like Colonel Quaritch (Stephen Lang) are still a constant threat, the real danger appears to be Varang (Oona Chaplin), leader of the Ash People. Jake and his clan have plenty of guns and arrows, but Varang’s ability to manipulate fire with just her hands seems like the sort of thing that might give her people a huge advantage as they set their sights on destroying their fellow Na’Vi. Thankfully, the trailer doesn’t spell out how Fire and Ash will bring all of its characters together. But it does make it look like the movie’s going to be a feast for the eyes when it hi...

Xbox will let you play Silksong at Gamescom in August

Image
Microsoft will let Gamescom attendees play a demo of the long-awaited  Hollow Knight: Silksong  on the new  ROG Xbox Ally handhelds . It’s part of more than 20 titles that will be available at the Xbox booth at Gamescom, including a new theater experience to demonstrate The Outer Worlds 2 . Silksong will be available to play on the new Xbox Ally devices at Gamescom, just months after Xbox president Sarah Bond revealed in June that Silksong will be available “at launch and in Game Pass” when Asus’ new handhelds launch later this year. Gamescom attendees will also get to try out Microsoft’s new Xbox and Windows UI , as well as play Roblox, Sea of Thieves, and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 on the new Xbox Ally handhelds. Grounded 2 will also be at Gamescom, as well as the first public hands-on of Ninja Gaiden 4 . We’ve been waiting three years to get a Silksong release date, after Microsoft originally said in 2022 that the sequel to the indie side-scrolling action pl...

How Trump let Boeing off the hook for the 737 MAX crashes

Image
On July 18th, a federal judge in Texas scheduled what will likely be the final hearing in the case of United States v. The Boeing Company. After five years of litigation, the end result can only be described as a victory for Boeing - and a permanent setback for those who hoped that the company would be held accountable for a decade of safety violations. Last year, Boeing's prospects looked far bleaker. In 2021, the Department of Justice charged the company with conspiracy to defraud the government about the Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System (MCAS) software on the 737 MAX, which has been linked to the deaths of 346 people in t … Read the full story at The Verge. source https://www.theverge.com/planes/713143/boeing-737-max-crash-trump-case

Reddit and Discord’s UK age verification can be defeated by Death Stranding’s photo mode

Image
You can point your phone camera at Sam to pass age checks. Enforcement of the UK's new online safety rules started on Friday , forcing a variety of platforms to roll out mandatory age verification tools for Brits. We already know that the age-gating checks are easy to bypass with a VPN , but what we didn't know is that the face scanning tools used by platforms like Reddit and Discord can also be easily bypassed with Death Stranding 's photo mode. Dany Sterkhov alerted the world to the Death Stranding bypass on Friday morning, and gamers have been using the photo mode and Sam Bridges to trick face scanning tools into accepting them as an adult all weekend. All you have to do is point your phone at your … Read the full story at The Verge. source https://www.theverge.com/report/714402/uk-age-verification-bypass-death-stranding-reddit-discord

The Fujifilm X-E5 proves familiar isn’t always a bad thing

Image
The Fujifilm X-E5 has a familiar but gorgeous new look. The X-E5 is Fujifilm's tiny powerhouse . It's part of a line of cameras that has often been described as similar to the X100, except with an interchangeable lens. But the X-E line has evolved this year and is taking on a new shape. It used to be seen as a budget option, but at $1,699 , that can no longer be said. Despite the fact that I've used almost every Fuji out there, this was my first time playing around with any of the X-E line of cameras. The X-E5 is a gorgeous, petite, and classy-looking camera with sharp lines throughout the body, and with buttons and an occasional concave edge for some extra flair and a distinctive look. It is ever … Read the full story at The Verge. source https://www.theverge.com/tech/714141/fujifilm-x-e5-camera-review

Netflix’s push into tie-in games now includes two weird Happy Gilmore titles

Image
Netflix seems to have finally settled on something resembling a strategy for its gaming efforts, and one of the key pillars is games tied to its shows and movies. That's how we got the likes of Squid Game: Unleashed and Black Mirror 's Thronglets . Now, as Happy Gilmore 2 hits the streaming service, it's accompanied by a pair of games that show just how promotional Netflix can be. The first game is actually pretty fun, though it's not really a whole game. It's called Happy Gilmore: Golf Mayhem '98 Demo , and it's exactly what it sounds like: a fictional long-lost demo of a golf game starring Happy that exists in the film's universe. It plays a … Read the full story at The Verge. source https://www.theverge.com/games/713886/netflix-happy-gilmore-2-games

Lyft’s self-driving shuttle buses are coming soon

Image
Lyft is partnering with Benteler Mobility to launch a self-driving shuttle service. In late 2026, Lyft plans to deploy the company’s all-electric Holon Urban shuttles in airports and cities around the US, allowing users to book trips from its ride-sharing app. Holon, a subsidiary of Benteler, says its rectangular bus has enough room to fit up to 15 people. With a max speed of 37MPH, the self-driving shuttle comes equipped with an array of lidar and radar sensors, along with 11 cameras, allowing it to operate with Level 4 autonomy . That means it can drive without human intervention, but isn’t capable of driving under all conditions. It uses autonomous driving technology from Intel’s Mobileye, which Lyft is also partnering with to launch a fleet of robotaxis next year. Details about where Lyft plans to deploy the self-driving shuttles remain slim, as it doesn’t look like Holon has any established routes in the US just yet. Last year, Holon announced plans to launch a manufacturing...

Satya Nadella seeks to reassure Microsoft employees in layoffs memo

Image
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. | Image: Getty Images Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella didn’t send a company-wide memo when the software maker laid off as many as 9,000 employees earlier this month. Now, Nadella is finally addressing what’s on many Microsoft employees’ minds: layoffs . “I want to speak to what’s been weighing heavily on me, and what I know many of you are thinking about: the recent job eliminations,” says Nadella in a memo to all Microsoft employees today . “These decisions are among the most difficult we have to make. They affect people we’ve worked alongside, learned from, and shared countless moments with — our colleagues, teammates, and friends.” While Nadella expresses gratitude for affected employees, he doesn’t guarantee there won’t be more waves of layoffs in the near future, and notes that Microsoft’s headcount is “relatively unchanged” despite the cuts: I also want to acknowledge the uncertainty and seeming incongruence of the times we’re in. By every objecti...

Google’s Pixel Watch 4 might charge on its side

Image
Google’s rumored Pixel Watch 4 may charge on its side rather than on its back, based on leaked official renders of the watch published by Android Headlines . The watch may also get a roughly 25 percent improvement in charging speed over the Pixel Watch 3. Without charging contacts on the back, the Pixel Watch 4 will now have a “new array of sensors,” Android Headlines says. The switch might also make the Pixel Watch 4 more repairable; with previous Pixel Watches, Google has offered replacements but not repairs . By propping up the watch on its side, it seems like the new charging system could be handier for places like a nightstand where having the watch lay flat might be inconvenient. Google is hosting a product launch event on August 20th , and Android Headlines reports that the company is planning to announce the Pixel Watch 4 in 41mm and 45mm sizes at the event. The company is also expected to announce its Pixel 10 lineup at the show, and it seemingly leaked the lineup in...

OpenAI prepares to launch GPT-5 in August

Image
Earlier this year, I heard that Microsoft engineers were preparing server capacity for OpenAI's next-generation GPT-5 model, arriving as soon as late May. After some additional testing and delays, sources familiar with OpenAI's plans tell me that GPT-5 is now expected to launch as early as next month. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman recently revealed on X that "we are releasing GPT-5 soon" and even teased some of its capabilities in a podcast appearance with Theo Von earlier this week. Altman decided to let GPT-5 take a stab at a question he didn't understand. "I put it in the model, this is GPT-5, and it answered it perfectly," Altman said. He descr … Read the full story at The Verge. source https://www.theverge.com/notepad-microsoft-newsletter/712950/openai-gpt-5-model-release-date-notepad

Trump unveils his plan to put AI in everything

Image
Ensuring AI reflects “objective truth,” slashing onerous regulations, disseminating US AI tools around the world, and fast-tracking AI infrastructure: this is all part of President Donald Trump’s vision for AI policy. The White House unveiled its “ AI Action Plan ” Wednesday ahead of a scheduled appearance by the president at an event in Washington, DC. The 28-page document lays out three pillars of US AI policy in the Trump era: accelerating AI innovation, building American AI infrastructure, and leading international diplomacy and security around AI.  Trump is expected to sign a series of related executive orders this week to help implement the plan. He’s slated to appear at an event Wednesday evening hosted by the Hill and Valley Forum and the All-In Podcast, which is co-hosted by tech investor-turned-White House AI and crypto czar David Sacks.  Large chunks of the plan echo bipartisan rhetoric about ensuring the US maintains a leading role in the AI race and integrate...

Wheel World is the feel-good game of the summer

Image
Momentum is what Wheel World does best. It is the feeling of reaching a downhill section of road, a pristine Sega-blue sea stretching out in the far distance, and letting gravity, the weight of your bicycle, and slope do all the work. Release the right trigger, the button used to peddle, and simply careen down the gently curving asphalt. It's as if you're flying - the wind in your hair and shirt fluttering on your back, coasting to wherever the road takes you. Wheel World is an undeniably feel-good video game. But this wasn't always the case. It started life with the title " Ghost Bike ," casting you as a deceased cyclist making their way to … Read the full story at The Verge. source https://www.theverge.com/games-review/711680/wheel-world-review-ps5-xbox-steam

Google is bringing its AI-powered photo-to-video capability to more apps

Image
Google is adding new AI-powered features to Google Photos and YouTube Shorts that allow users to transform their photos into videos. The tools are similar to the Veo 3-powered photo-to-video capabilities that were added to Google’s Gemini app earlier this month, only they’re powered by Google’s older Veo 2 video model instead and have more limitations. The photo-to-video AI generation in Google Photos is restricted to making six-second clips, while the YouTube Shorts version allows users to select what clip length to generate. Unlike in Gemini or using Veo 2 itself, however, neither tool allows users to enter their own prompt descriptions to guide the results. Instead, users can only select from a list of provided prompts, such as “Subtle movements” or “I’m feeling lucky” in Google Photos. The feature is starting to roll out today in the US for Google Photos on Android and iOS devices, and over the next week for YouTube Shorts users in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. ...

Fantastic Four: First Steps’ greatest superpower is its gorgeous visuals

Image
When Disney acquired 21st Century Fox in 2019 , you could see flashes of the studio's plan to further expand the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After years of Marvel Studios building up the Avengers, the Fox deal put the company in a position to start telling stories about the characters who ushered in the modern superhero movie frenzy, like Blade and the X-Men . But it was a little odd to hear that Marvel also planned to make the Fantastic Four a major part of the MCU's future. Even though the Fantastic Four have always been prominent in Marvel's comics, the characters - created by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee - had never translated well to the big s … Read the full story at The Verge. source https://www.theverge.com/movie-reviews/711370/fantastic-four-first-steps-review-marvel

Microsoft’s new Intel-powered Surface Laptop 5G arrives in August

Image
Microsoft announced a new 5G version of its Surface Laptop today, which will start shipping on August 26th starting at $1,799.99. The Surface Laptop 5G is powered by Intel’s Core Ultra Series 2 processors, complete with an NPU capable of providing access to Microsoft’s latest Copilot Plus AI features. The Surface Laptop 5G is very similar to the existing 13.8-inch Surface Laptop 7 model , except Microsoft has made some internal changes to accommodate a 5G modem and support for a physical nano SIM on the side of the laptop, as well as eSIMs. The base Surface Laptop 5G will be priced at $1,799, and ship with an Intel Core Ultra 5, 16GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. The top of the range model will be priced at $2,699, and ship with Intel’s Core Ultra 7 processor, 32GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage. All models will ship in the Surface platinum silver color. Microsoft says it hasn’t just dropped a modem into its Surface Laptop 5G, as the company has built a special antenna system that’s no...

Pixel 10 Pro looks a lot like the base model in leaked renders

Image
After sharing the first official leaked renders of the Pixel 10 yesterday , today Android Headlines has shared images of the 10 Pro too. It looks almost identical to the base model, but will apparently launch in a more muted set of colors. Android Headlines reports that the black and white finishes are the familiar “Obsidian” and “Porcelain” that Google has used before. The grayish blue will apparently be called “Moonstone,” while the “Jade” green is the most colorful of the lot, with a subtle gold trim too. Shortly after Android Headlines shared leaked images of the base Pixel 10 yesterday, Google responded with its own official reveal . We’re not expecting the same to happen again today, as closer inspection suggests that yesterday’s reveal appears to be of the Pro model already. With the base Pixel 10 rumored to sport its own telephoto camera, it seems like both that and the Pixel 10 Pro will look almost identical, colors aside. But there is still one giveaway: the Pro-exclus...

Microsoft says Chinese hacking groups are behind SharePoint attacks

Image
Some of the attacks that targeted organizations using an exploit in Microsoft’s SharePoint server platform over the last few days have been linked to hacking groups affiliated with the Chinese government, according to a new Microsoft security blog .  “As of this writing, Microsoft has observed two named Chinese nation-state actors, Linen Typhoon and Violet Typhoon, exploiting these vulnerabilities targeting internet-facing SharePoint servers,” Microsoft said on Tuesday. “In addition, we have observed another China-based threat actor, tracked as Storm-2603, exploiting these vulnerabilities. Investigations into other actors also using these exploits are still ongoing.” Eye Security told BleepingComputer it’s identified 54 organizations that have been breached, including a private university and a private energy operator in California, and a federal government health organization. The Washington Post reports that anonymous sources working on the SharePoint intrusions said they’...

Google’s leaked Pixel 10 images confirm a third camera

Image
It appears that Google will be adding a third back camera to the base Pixel 10 this year, based on what Android Headlines reports are official renders of the rumored phone. The third camera will be a telephoto camera, Android Headlines says, with the other two cameras being a primary sensor and an ultrawide. This isn’t a total surprise, as Android Headlines has previously rumored that the Pixel 10 would be getting that telephoto shooter. However, the phone will reportedly have worse sensors that match the Pixel 9A , which could be a way for Google to create some separation between the Pixel 10 and the Pixel 10 Pro. The renders published by Android Headlines also show four colors for the Pixel 10: obsidian (black), indigo (dark blue), frost (gray-ish blue), and limoncello (a bright, neon yellow). Google is set to launch its next set of Pixel devices, which is also rumored to include a dust-proof Pixel 10 Pro Fold and the Pixel Watch 4 , at an event on August 20th . source ...

Microsoft wants to fix ‘slow or sluggish’ performance in Windows 11

Image
Ever since Windows 11 first debuted in October 2021, there have been complaints about its performance on certain types of hardware. Whether it was gaming on new hybrid performance CPUs showing no improvement on Windows 11, or claims that Windows 11 simply feels lethargic compared to Windows 10, Microsoft has tried to fix the problems with updates to the OS. Now, it wants direct feedback about “any slow or sluggish performance” in Windows 11. A new test build of Windows 11 debuted on Friday with a method to automatically collect performance logs submitted to Microsoft. “Windows Insiders are encouraged to provide feedback when experiencing PC issues related to slow or sluggish performance, allowing Feedback Hub to automatically collect these logs, which will help us root cause issues faster,” says Microsoft . This new logging system is part of Microsoft’s “commitment to improving Windows performance,” and will likely mean we see even more improvements to the performance and reliabili...

WhatsApp is dropping its native Windows app in favor of an uglier web version

Image
Meta is planning to drop its native WhatsApp Windows app in favor of a web wrapper version instead, just months after introducing a native iPad app . The latest beta version of WhatsApp on Windows includes the major changes, with Meta noting it has “updated how WhatsApp beta looks and works.” Behind the scenes it’s a big change to WhatsApp on Windows, moving it from a native Windows and WinUI app to the WhatsApp web version simply wrapped in a web view. That means not only does the app look different, but the way notifications work has changed and the settings UI is far more basic. The beta app also includes WhatsApp Channels and “more functionality” for Status and Communities features. Meta is using Microsoft’s Edge WebView2 technology in the latest WhatsApp beta, allowing it to easily package up its web version of WhatsApp into a desktop app. Windows Latest points out that this makes it easier for Meta to maintain a single code base, instead of having to also maintain a native W...

Microsoft SharePoint servers are under attack because of a major security flaw

Image
Hackers have exploited vulnerabilities in Microsoft’s SharePoint software, placing tens of thousands of on-premises servers used by global businesses and agencies at risk. Microsoft issued an alert on Saturday disclosing that it was aware of “active attacks,” and that it was working to patch the zero-day exploit.  Researchers at Eye Security first identified the vulnerability on July 18th, which allows hackers to access certain on-premises versions of SharePoint and steal keys that can let them impersonate users or services even after the server is rebooted or patched. That means servers that have already been compromised may still be a risk for businesses, but cloud versions of SharePoint aren’t vulnerable to the exploit and are unaffected.  Hackers can use the zero-day exploit to steal sensitive data, harvest passwords, and move across the breached network through services that are often connected to SharePoint, including Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive. The exploit appear...

UK wants to weasel out of demand for Apple encryption back door

Image
The UK government is reportedly set to back down from its battle with Apple to obtain back door access to secure user data protected by the company’s iCloud encryption. Victory hasn’t come through the courts, or government figures changing their minds on privacy matters, but thanks to ongoing pressure from the US during the two countries’ trade talks. Multiple unnamed UK officials told the Financial Times that the UK government is working on a way out. “The Home Office is basically going to have to back down,” one said, adding that vice-president JD Vance was especially opposed to the UK’s demand, which may violate the Cloud Act treaty between the two countries. “It’s a big red line in the US — they don’t want us messing with their tech companies.” Another official echoed that, explaining that the UK wants to avoid pushing too hard for “anything that looks to the US vice-president like a free-speech issue.” A third official said the UK had “its back against the wall,” and wants a ...

The intolerable memes of Alligator Alcatraz

Image
Alligator Alcatraz, Florida's hastily built, $225 million-and-counting immigrant detention facility in the Everglades, is both a de facto concentration camp and a right-wing meme. President Donald Trump's most ardent supporters are willing to excuse - or are in some cases reveling in - allegations of inhumane treatment at the facility : worms in food, floors flooded with fecal water, fluorescent lights left on for 24 hours a day, and no air conditioning at night despite South Florida's relentless humidity. To them, the whole thing is a big joke, fodder for memes that activate the base even as they turn the majority of Americans off from Tru … Read the full story at The Verge. source https://www.theverge.com/policy/710015/alligator-alcatraz-ice-detention-memes-social-media
