Facebook is still at work on its weird TV streaming device with a built-in camera

There’s no indication that Facebook’s Portal video chat devices have been a hit for the company, but that hasn’t stopped its development of other products. According to The Information, Facebook is continuing to work on a camera that can plug into a TV and double as a video-streaming device a la Roku or Fire TV. Facebook has reportedly approached Netflix, Disney, HBO, and Hulu about potentially including their subscription services on the hardware, which is expected to be announced this fall.

Snap suspends two anonymous messaging apps after cyberbullying lawsuit

The lawsuit was filed on Monday by Kristin Bride, the mother of a teenager who died by suicide in June after being bullied on the two apps. “In light of the serious allegations raised by the lawsuit, and out of an abundance of caution for the safety of the Snapchat community, we are suspending both Yolo and LMK’s Snap Kit integrations while we investigate these claims,” a spokesperson for Snap said in a statement.
