Twitter pauses ads in Ukraine and Russia amid growing conflict

Twitter is putting a temporary hold on advertisements in Ukraine and Russia to ensure the visibility of public safety information.

“We’re temporarily pausing advertisements in Ukraine and Russia to ensure critical public safety information is elevated and ads don’t detract from it,” Twitter said in a tweet. In the thread, the platform outlines several measures it’s taking to protect users. This includes a suspension on “some” tweet recommendations from people users aren’t following, as well as search and home timeline prompts...

Snap suspends two anonymous messaging apps after cyberbullying lawsuit

The lawsuit was filed on Monday by Kristin Bride, the mother of a teenager who died by suicide in June after being bullied on the two apps. “In light of the serious allegations raised by the lawsuit, and out of an abundance of caution for the safety of the Snapchat community, we are suspending both Yolo and LMK’s Snap Kit integrations while we investigate these claims,” a spokesperson for Snap said in a statement.
